Trauma and Injury Intelligence Group
The Trauma and Injury Intelligence Group (TIIG) was established to look at access to quality and reliable injury information. A major element of TIIG is the establishment of an Injury Surveillance System.
Injury Surveillance System
The purpose of the TIIG Injury Surveillance System is to collect injury data from local Accident and Emergency (A&E) departments, along with ambulance, fire and police services. TIIG currently collects and reports on injury data from all A&E departments across Merseyside. In addition data from the local ambulance and fire services are collected on a yearly basis. Over the next twelve months TIIG will be developing the Injury Surveillance System to collect data from Lancashire and Cumbria A&E department.
Reporting
TIIG produces a range of reports including:
- Monthly bulletins identifying key trends
- Monthly assault location and last drink location reports
- Themed reports
- Ad-hoc data requests
